Down's Syndrome Association

The Down's Syndrome Association has won the Books for Learning and Teaching Award for its education support pack. The award was presented at the special needs conference held by the National Association for Special Educational Needs and the Times Educational Supplement last week at the Business Design Centre in London. The pack is a practical guide for mainstream schools that include pupils with Down's Syndrome. It gives information on successful inclusion, methods for improving literacy and numeracy, and a range of curriculum-based teaching materials. The pack can also be downloaded free from the charity's website www.downs-syndrome.org.uk.
