Early years project thrives

* The Oxford-based Peers Early Years Partnership (PEEP) programme has reported a successful year. Its annual report for April 2001 to March 2002 said PEEP has continued to thrive, while National PEEP has taken off with the development of new training and PEEP Learning Ltd. In the past year the project has, among other achievements, gained Investors in People status, re-registered its first registered PEEP programme in Birkenhead and registered a second PEEP programme in Knowle West, Bristol. PEEP Early Start groups have also been held in Oxfordshire, Derby and the Wirral, funded by the Basic Skills Agency.

PEEP aims to improve the life chances of children in disadvantaged areas by supporting parents and carers in their role as children's first educators.
