Education minister Peter Peacock

Education minister Peter Peacock dropped in to visit Brackens Primary School in Dundee last week and launched a website to help parents get more involved with their children's education. The revamped Parentzone site, at www.parentzonescotland.gov.uk, is designed to provide parents with instant access to key education information and includes advice on choosing a school, the curriculum, parent's rights and responsibilities and health and welfare. Mr Peacock said, 'Two of the key things that parents asked for during the National Debate on Education were better information and better access. We will deliver these, but we also expect parents to play a much more active role.'
