But the chance to visit a fair comes once in a blue moon. And when one does come to town, those club members lucky enough to visit are likely to have just a limited number of tries on sideshows - limited either by money, the adults with them, or both! Sideshows may be available at local fetes at a cheaper price but the same restrictions are likely to apply. Subsequently, children don't have the chance to practise activities like 'hook a duck'
