Thom Crabbe says, 'Five of our providers are currently working on this and we plan to extend these into next year. One of the complexities is that the practice element of degrees varies greatly. Some are heavily academic, while others have more practical experience, and at the moment we are trying to determine the common ground. In the longer term it is hoped that institutions will offer an Early Childhood Studies degree with EYPS, so it is a seamless process.'
CWDC's current training providers are contracted until April 2011 and new tenders are currently being organised to take EYPS beyond that time.
