Families in crisis given emergency grants for basics

Families Provision
Families in difficult circumstances will be given grants for cookers and other essentials as part of a £3m programme funded by BBC Children in Need.

From next month Family Fund Business Services will deliver the charity’s  emergency essentials programme, providing thousands of families across the UK and Channel Islands who are facing severe financial, health and social difficulties with items such as a bed, a cooker to make a hot meal, or clothing, to meet children’s basic needs.

Family Fund Business Services (FFBS), the trading subsidiary of charity Family Fund, was selected by BBC Children in Need to deliver the programme for the next three years following a tender process.

Family Fund is the UK's largest grant-giving charity for families raising disabled or seriously ill children.

The 2018-19 contract is worth £3m, with a possible extension of two years and the potential for the value to increase to £5m per year during this period.
