Family-owned nursery group opens third setting

Provision Business Management
A husband and wife team have opened their third nursery in a Grade II listed building in Leeds.

Nursery owners Graham and Amika Abbott opened Tiny Tree Day Nursery last month after spending £2 million renovating Sycamore Lodge in Hyde Park, a listed building that dates back to the 1860s, which had fallen into a state of disrepair.

The renovation of the 160-place nursery, which took eight months to complete, was part- funded by a £1.8 million loan from HSBC.

The day-to-day running of the setting, which is surrounded by half an acre of gardens and woodlands, will be handled by nursery manager Jay Laycock, who has more than ten years’ experience working in the sector.

Tiny Tree Day Nursery is Mr and Mrs Abbott’s third setting, joining Newbank Nursery in Oldham, Greater Manchester, and Little Angels in Huddersfield, both rated outstanding by Ofsted.
