It is clear that an experienced early years consultant and NVQ assessor has written these books. Both are packed full of practical ideas to help NVQ students to work towards and compile a folio to support their studies. They could also be useful for qualified practitioners.

The books have a clear and easy-to-follow format that covers each unit of the NVQs, both mandatory and optional. Throughout each section there are case studies to help apply the points made and relevant questions that might be asked by an NVQ assessor. There are answer pointers at the end of the section, giving keywords to help formulate a fuller 'correct' answer.

Handy hints for good practice are also peppered through the text. At the back of each book is a section of photocopiable pages with ideas for activities, and time saving record sheets, planning charts and so on.
