The Government in Westminster is also keen to be seen helping parents with childcare, and so it's changing its immigration rules to open the gates for thousands more young people from Eastern Europe to come here to work as au pairs, as Tony Blair announced in late November. Critics say that the real purpose is to provide childcare on the cheap and that once again, the Government is bending over backwards to avoid making experienced, dedicated British nannies more affordable to families. And what about the children?
