Funding for services targeting vulnerable parents to be extended

Services that target vulnerable parents such as teenagers, the disabled and families facing separation are to have their funding extended until March 2009, children's minister Beverley Hughes has confirmed.

The extension will help projects to seek permanent long-term fundingfrom their local authorities. The Parenting Fund, which has run since2004 and is managed by the Family and Parenting Institute on behalf ofthe DCSF, will continue until 2011. For details seewww.familyandparenting.org.
