* BTec Higher National Diploma (HND) and Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Early Childhood Studies, at colleges around the UK. These are both Level 4 qualifications. Prospective students who want to further their theoretical knowledge of early years issues must be over 18 and already have either a relevant BTec National Qualification, a vocational A-level (AVCE) or one A-level, or equivalent, and four GCSEs. Note that these qualifications are due to be revised this autumn.
