Lesley Abbott, professor of early childhood education at Manchester Metropolitan University, has been seconded to the Department for Education and Skills to direct the project, which began in September and concludes next August. The team, based at the university's Institute of Education, is canvassing practitioners' views using a range of methods, including focus groups, telephone interviews and a questionnaire.
They are also seeking Nursery World readers' thoughts on the following questions:
1 What would you not wish to see in a framework to support those working with the nought to three age range?
2 What principles, therefore, do you feel should underpin the proposed framework?
