Goal scorers need to be celebrated

I am the manager of a three- to four-year-olds' room in a private nursery school and we use the Early Learning Goals to inform and develop our practice. In my room I have a dedicated team of three nursery nurses and a nursery assistant (who is working towards her Modern Apprenticeship). We are open from 8am to 6pm and we offer an excellent and balanced combination of care and education. We work hard at what we do.

The children are happy, relaxed, independent and confident. They leave us for school, prepared emotionally and strong enough to take everything it throws at them. They are fascinated by the world around them and full of enthusiasm for learning. They are also, most importantly, excellent communicators. We are constantly encouraging them to 'use their words'.

I feel privileged to be able to do something I love. Most practitioners are the same.

Why don't we celebrate and share our good practice as there is lots of it out there?
