A 24-hour digital TV channel for teachers aimed at raising standards in the classroom is to be launched by the DfES early next year. Teachers' TV will show programmes on training and development, resources for the classroom and education news, on an annual budget of 20m. million, Teachers' TV is set to play a central role in delivering the DfES' objectives of improving overall educational standards, ensuring teachers are better skilled and resources and improving the status of teaching as a profession.
