Early years in focus on Teachers' TV

Early years practitioners wanting to find out more about phonics or the learning environment can tune into Teachers' TV this month for a week-long batch of programmes focusing on the early years. 'Early Years in Action' is a six-part series that looks at tried and tested ideas. It includes programmes on phonics, listening skills for staff, the learning environment and healthy eating.

'Early Years Workshop' is another six-part series that covers the work of childminders, nursery and reception staff.

Both series will begin in the week commencing 16 January.

Other programmes focus on the importance of play, using puppets for learning through play, outdoor settings and quality of care. Producers also follow UK practitioners on a visit to Reggio Emilia in Italy to study its renowned approach to early education.
