In brief...Glasgow City Kidz Card launched

Minister for education Jack McConnell and minister for health Susan Deacon last week launched the Glasgow City Kidz Card for children aged five to 11 years, which lets them have money off a variety of leisure facilities throughout the city. It also allows cash-free access to library facilities, school meals and some retail discounts. Mr McConnell said, 'As well as providing discounts for sports and leisure facilities, the Kidz Card encourages children to be active and it can help reduce bullying by taking away the need to carry cash.'
