Asthma inhalers may not work for some children and could even worsen their health, according to new research.
The study by Brighton and Sussex Medical School and the University ofDundee, published in this month's Journal of Allergy and ClinicalImmunology, found that children who carry the Arg16 gene and use themost commonly prescribed blue inhaler daily were at a 30 per centgreater risk of asthma attacks. But the study recommends childrencontinue to use their inhalers until further research is done.
