Join us for a webinar on the International Baccalaureate early years programme

Join us on Wednesday 15 November 2023 at 1pm to find out how the IB Primary Years Programme Early Years (PYP) could work in your setting.

The webinar will outline key components of the PYP and how its focus on the importance of children being free to learn through play means that the EYFS can be aligned with its learning aims. It will also provide insights into how it offers the best of international learning and supports your team’s professional development and retention.

You will also get the opportunity to ask questions to understand how the programme could work in your own nursery or setting.

The webinar will be chaired by Gemma Goldenberg. It will include:

  • What are the key components of the programme and what it covers?
  • How can the programme enhance the quality of early years education?
  • What impact can the the programme have on staff and professional development?

Gemma is an expert in education and research-informed practice, with two decades of experience in learning and psychology. She has worked as an assistant headteacher, curriculum designer, research and learning specialist for the Chartered College of teaching, and most recently as a PhD researcher investigating the impact of early learning environments on children’s stress, attention and behaviour.

Also taking part in the discussion are:

Ingrid Mccormack who has lived and worked in schools in the UK, Africa and the Middle East. She has been a classroom educator, early years lead, primary principal and pedagogical coach. These roles have sparked continued passion for inquiry based, conceptually led learning and teaching engendering collaboration and purposeful education – all factors that are at the core of the IB Primary Years Programme.

Jan Dubiel  is a nationally and internationally recognised specialist in Early Childhood Education. He was recently identified by the Times Educational Supplement as one of the ten most influential people in British education and was previously Head of National and International development at Early Excellence. He has worked as a nursery, Reception and Y1 teacher, senior leader, consultant and adviser and national lead on the management of the Foundation Stage Profile with QCA.

Kelsey Winocour is an educator and administrator for 25 years with work spanning the United States, Spain, Japan, and Hong Kong. She is deeply passionate about the International Baccalaureate programme and has been able to work in both the MYP and PYP programs as a Teacher, head of year, house director, IB coordinator, and curriculum director.  She has led training and curriculum development workshops for various global audiences.
