Kids Planet has acquired Springfield Nurseries, a chain of five settings in North Wales. It has also bought Fledglings Nurseries, which operates four settings in Greater Manchester, along with opening a 109-place setting in Sale.
The deals bring the total number of nurseries owned by Kids Planet to 182, with plans to continue to expand this year.
The nursery in Sale was officially opened by the Mayor of Trafford, Councillor Dolores O’Sullivan earlier this month. It is expected to provide up to 30 job opportunities locally.
Since selling a majority of its stake to private equity less than three years ago, the nursery group has grown rapidly. When Fremman Capital became the largest shareholder in the business in November 2021, Kids Planet operated 82 settings.
