Kidsactive

Kidsactive has been awarded a 240,000 grant by the Department for Education and Skills to set up its Playwork Inclusion Project on a regional basis. The charity specialises in inclusive play for disabled children. It will be working with the DfES Early Years and Childcare Unit to appoint development workers in three regions of England this year and a further four next year. The development workers will deliver the Kidsactive training course Planning Inclusive Play (PIP) to senior play and out-of-school workers, and help local authorities in preparing for new accessibility legislation. Kidsactive development manager Joanna Ryam said, 'We want to see all disabled children included in play and out-of-school provision, and this is an unprecedented opportunity to make it happen.' Kidsactive can be contacted on 020 7731 1435.
