The LSC is responsible for planning and funding vocational training at further education and sixth form colleges. Its remit includes workplace training and workforce development.

The LSC has already made 800 job losses in the past 18 months. In addition, in May it was forced to reduce funding allocations for adult learning, which have led colleges to cut up to 200,000 places on adult education and training course places from this month.
