The book is packed with helpful information such as pointers for the future, pie charts and parents' stories (not translated into dry 'research'

speak).

It covers a diverse range of topics and suits the new breed of children's services professionals, those from truly multi- agency, multi-disciplinary backgrounds. For example, I have a community development background and went straight to chapter 15 for an assessment of community involvement. I was not disappointed, as the chapter's style reflected my passion for getting parents involved. The 'ladder of involvement' was a particular favourite.
