Libraries offer free sticker book for under-fives

Pre-school children can get a free sticker book on trips to their local library to make visits more exciting and inspiring, as part of a pilot project by Book Trust.

The new book produced by the children’s reading charity is called Bear’s Reading Adventure.

It follows Book Trust’s blue bear mascot on a reading quest around different locations, including the park, the supermarket and, of course, the library. There are ten objects missing from the adventure and children collect a missing object each time they return to the library.

It is hoped that the Book Trust project will encourage more families to make regular library visits and begin daily and weekly reading with their children from a young age.

Author of the book, Gemma Malley, said, 'If you haven’t joined your local library or visited for a while, then do take a moment to see what’s going on.
