London nursery group takes on village life

Provision Business
Hungry Caterpillar Day Nurseries has acquired an old village pub to convert into a nursery.

The west London-based group has also won a contract with Ealing Council to run a children's centre nursery.

The new settings will increase the number of childcare places on offer to just under 600.

The rural setting in Chalfont St Peter in Buckinghamshire will be the tenth for the group, which also runs two crèches and one out-of-school club.

The nursery chain has just received confirmation of planning permission for change of use and renovations are underway.

Previously known as the Chalfont Phoenix the pub has been closed for several years, but will now be renovated and turned into a nursery for 65 children. It is expected to open early next year.
