'London Pledge' to help tackle child poverty

Children's centres, job centres and schools are among those being invited to sign up to the 'London Pledge' to help tackle child poverty through leading the way as employers by sharing ideas to shape services, and taking the lead as employers by offering family-friendly working practices. Thirty-one per cent of children in London are believed to be living in poverty, compared with a national average of 22 per cent. The Government is asking organisations willing to sign up to the 'London Pledge' to contact the Child Poverty Unit via the DCSF. E-mail info@dcsf.gsi.gov.uk or call 0870 000 2288.
