Making the most of toddlergroups

Making the most of toddlergroups is the subject of a new booklet published by the Scottish Pre-School Play Association. Learning through play for the under-threes in parent and toddler groups is a revised version of the SPPA's Play in toddler groups and was funded by Renfrewshire Council through Sure Start Scotland with support from the Esmee Fairburn Foundation. The booklet costs 5.25 for SPPA members or 6.50 for non-members (plus postage and packing). Contact the SPPA on 0141 221 4148. A companion booklet on management, Running a toddler group - a code of practice, will be published shortly. Its projects include a school feeding programme in Malawi, which seeks to ensure that children are sufficiently well-nourished to attend school, and a scheme to look after children with HIV/AIDS in Romania.
