The sack race and three-legged race have been banned from a school sports day due to health and safety fears, The Times reported.

Outraged parents at John F Kennedy Primary School in Tyne and Weardescribed the ban as 'completely over the top'. After discussions withthe venue, Beamish Open Air Museum, it was decided that running, hoppingand throwing balls into buckets would be allowed.
