Football star David Beckham is to appear on 'Blue Peter' to lend his support to its Shoe Biz appeal, said the BBC. The appeal aims to raise money for Malawian Aids orphans by recycling 500,000 shoes.
A boy of two was kept from boarding a flight in the United Arab Emirates when his name matched that of a criminal suspect, said the Metro. His father thought the airport official was joking and said, 'Take him if you want.' They were allowed to board the flight to Turkey later.
The Guardian reported that the National Trust for Scotland is advertising for two new families to move to the Hebrides island of Canna, which has a population of 15. Its two-room schoolhouse has just one pupil, eight-year-old Caroline Mackinnon.
