The Government may have bitten off more than it can chew in its plans to make children more aware of healthy eating. A study commissioned by the National Farmers' Union, reported in the Independent, found that a third of primary school children think oranges grow in Britain. A quarter assume that bread is made from potatoes or rice, and a third think ham is produced from chickens.
The Sun said that 'breast is bezzzt' to prevent snoring in later life. It reported research in Germany which found that breast-fed babies snore less in middle age because suckling develops stronger throat muscles.
