- A three-year-old boy in Fife may have saved his mother's life by dialling 999 after she had an epileptic fit, reported Scotland on Sunday. Leanne Thomson said she was 'very proud' of her son Jack, who called the emergency services from her mobile phone and said she was lying sick in the hallway and his father was out at work, while operators traced their home address.

- Teenagers who are embarrassed by their parents' dancing or singing maydiffer from adults in the parts of the brain they use to processemotions such as guilt or embarrassment, said the Daily Telegraph,reporting a study of adolescents conducted by the University of London.
