A school in Sweden has complained to the country's parliament over a violation of children's rights after an eight-year-old boy failed to invite two of his classmates to his birthday party, reported the BBC.

The school is arguing that if invitations are handed out on schoolpremises it must ensure there is no discrimination. The boy's father haslodged a complaint with the parliamentary ombudsman.

- A pupil who wrote 'f*** off' on his GCSE English exam paper was givenmarks for accurate spelling and conveying a meaning successfully, saidThe Times. Examiners have given children 7.5 per cent for writing theexpletive and 11 per cent if they add an exclamation mark, even if ithas nothing to do with the question. Chief examiner Peter Buckroyd said,'It's better than someone who doesn't write anything at all. It showsmore skills than leaving the page blank.'
