Obese children would be permitted to have stomach surgery under new guidelines being proposed by the NHS treatment watchdog, NICE, according to BBC News.
Lax bedtimes and hectic parental lifestyles may be driving the explosion in child obesity, the Independent reported, after researchers in Quebec found that the less children sleep, the fatter they become.
Dinner ladies will be replaced by robots and video-conferencing will do away with the need to go to school at all - or so a number of seven- to ten-year-olds predict, in a survey undertaken by Tesco Computers for Schools and reported in the Metro.
