Mind the gap

Children in Scotland has published a report to be sent to every school in Scotland, highlighting the need for schools to promote the emotional and mental well-being of their pupils. The charity says one in ten children in Scotland under the age of 16 'suffer from a mental illness severe enough to affect their daily functioning'. The report, Mind the gap: everybody's business, advocates a community-wide responsibility with health professionals, social workers and the voluntary sector working with schools to promote better mental health.
