More credit deserved

Although independent, our pre-school operates in a primary school classroom. The school notified us two days before its Ofsted inspection was due that we would also be included in the inspection. We cannot trace any correspondence relating to this new inspection process. No problem - all our paperwork and procedures were in place, as we had only been inspected 12 months earlier and received a 'very good' report with re-inspection in three to four years. So why was it necessary for us to have another inspection? We thought maybe this one would be a 'softly softly' approach in view of the time between, but no, the inspector came for two full sessions and we felt the inspection was more in depth than the previous one.

We were delighted to receive 'outstanding' for three of the five areas of the care standards, the remaining two being 'good' and also 'good' for the education inspection. However, the net result will only be shown as 'good'
