The value of childcare provided by grandparents in the UK, looking after children under 12, is valued at more than 1 billion a year. There are 13 million grandparents in the UK and nearly five million of them spend the equivalent of three days a week looking after their grandchildren.
The charity is calling on the Government to consult grandparents to find out what needs to be done to support them.
