More than a childminder

Sometimes, when Jan's not feeling 100 per cent, I have the boys overnight or at the weekend. Tom and Jake are almost part of the family, and Jan's become a really good friend.

Knowing Jan was a big help when my daughter, Eleanor, was diagnosed as epileptic. I found her collapsed on her bedroom floor the night before her first GCSE exam. She was discharged from hospital after two hours, but had a seizure in the car on the way home. It was a frightening experience.
