MPs rally to call to end child abuse

* A campaign to stop children dying from abuse has become the top domestic issue at Westminster. Out of 1,300 Early Day Motions tabled by MPs, the call by Debra Shipley, Labour MP for Stourbridge, for the Government to commit itself to supporting the NSPCC Full Stop campaign to end child cruelty within a generation has been backed by 348 MPs. She said, 'It is extremely shocking that every week at least one child is killed by the person who is supposed to care for them. It is vital that the Government takes action and every one of us takes responsibility. If we suspect a child is in danger it's our duty to report it.'
