National Training Awards

Schools, childcare and early years organisations have until 30 April to enter for this year's National Training Awards, organised by UK Skills. A series of free half-day workshops run by experienced trainers is taking place across the UK to help organisations put their entries together for this year's competition. Last year's scheme had a record number of 32 winners for the education sector. Winners last year included South Beach Community First School in Blyth, Northumberland for implementing training that led to the school achieving beacon status. In 2002, the nursery chain Child Base won a national award for its nursery nurse training and a regional award for its management training. To enter the awards or to book a place at a workshop, telephone 0800 917 7337 or visit the website www. nationaltrainingawards.com.
