National training award

Childcare and early years organisations have until 30 April to enter for a national training award in the education sector being run by UK Skills. The Buckinghamshire-based nursery chain Child Base won a national award last year for its nursery nurse training and a regional award for its management training work. There were more than 800 entries in 2002 and UK Skills said any organisation or individual can enter the awards, providing the training took place mainly in the UK. Linda Ammon, chief executive of UK Skills, said, 'The National Training Awards celebrate those individuals who have made great achievements through training.'
