Ms Richardson said, 'It's a huge job, but it's very exciting and the staff I've met so far have been very welcoming.'

Asquith said that the new role reflects the group's ambition to become the market leader in childcare practice.

Ms Richardson will head up a team of three regional childcare and education managers as well as a health and safety manager.
