Nursery World - NDNA launches nursery survey on funding

The National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA)is urging all nursery providers to take part in its annual survey, which focuses on funding issues facing the early years sector.

There are three separate surveys for England, Scotland and Wales.

NDNA said it aims to use the results to campaign for change in the early years sector, inform and influence politicians in all parties, and make recommendations to Government.

Purnima Tanuku, chief executive of NDNA, said, ‘This year, it is now more important than ever for nurseries to provide results in this survey.

‘We are unfortunately seeing a rise in settings facing increasing worry of closure due to lack inadequate levels of funding as well as a recruitment crisis affecting nurseries up and down the country. This survey and report will be used to lobby government and make changes that nursery providers actually need.

‘The survey is open to all – not just our members – so we can create a full picture of what needs to change in the early years sector.’

On completion of the survey, respondents will be entered into a prize draw to win £200 worth of nursery resources from TTS and The Consortium.

The England and Scotland surveys will close on 16 April and the Wales survey will close on 25 April.
