NDNA launches online courses

Feedback from businesses and nurseries helped shape new level 3+ courses. Karen Faux reports.

Those wishing to hone their expertise in key areas such as self-evaluation, working with parents, observation and nutrition can now check out the NDNA's new package of online training programmes.

The seven courses, delivered in partnership with Virtual College, combine a variety of study elements - not all of which involve sitting at a computer screen.

Stella Ziolkowski, director of quality and workforce development at NDNA, says, 'Through our contract with the Learning and Skills Council we have been able to diagnose the current needs of businesses and identify where there are skills gaps.

'Similarly, our Quality Counts scheme has also highlighted weaknesses that need to be addressed. Another driver has been the feedback we have from members themselves, enabling us to focus on the areas they lack confidence in.'
