A new online directory of childcare providers and family services is being set up to replace the Family Information Directory, which closed as its Department for Education funding came to an end.
A small number of companies involved in the directory are to launch a similar free resource, and are inviting all local authorities to contribute to the site. For details see www.openfamilyservices.org.uk.
