New tool to track early years inspections

A new online tracking tool called Watchsted provides a snapshot of the latest early years inspections across the country.

Watchsted’s map visualises the latest 100 inspections to be published, giving a summary of the grades achieved and a link to the full report on the Ofsted website. Data can be viewed for early years providers, nursery schools, children’s centres, primary schools, special schools or secondary schools.

The tool, which is free to access, is updated every night, and gives a picture of latest inspection trends. Performance tables to compare local authority areas are also available.

Angel Solutions, which provides a wide range of inspection and performance resources, says it created Watchsted to save users time and provide useful intelligence, and to help give some transparency and analysis of Ofsted and its providers.

The company also has paid-for services such as its Perspective improvement suite of online tools to help with self-evaluation, performance management and planning, as well as profiles of lead Ofsted inspectors.
