Staff from the chain's nurseries took part in the 10k Midnight Walk inBath this month to raise money for local hospice Dorothy House.
- How did it go?
Amazingly. It was really good fun and the atmosphere was fantastic. Ourteam tried to stay together, but with more than 30 of us it was verydifficult to achieve, so we ended up walking in groups. Our finishingtimes ranged from one hour 45 minutes to two hours 15 minutes, which wewere really pleased with. Some members of staff pushed vintage SilverCross prams along with them on the route.
- What reactions did they get from the crowd and other participants?
Nostalgia was the main reaction, especially from the older generation.We had dolls in the prams, so had a few jokes about keeping the babiesout so late. In fact the dolls were quite realistic, so I'm not sureeveryone was joking.
- How much money have you raised for Dorothy House Hospice?
We haven't finished counting yet as the donations are still pouring in.When we did the walk last year we raised over 2,000, so we'rehoping to beat that.
