NNEB or not to be

I rarely see jobs being advertised for NNEBs anymore. We nursery nurses are slowly being pushed out of the employment market for cheaper unqualified options because we are classed as being too expensive. But I don't class my annual salary of 12,879 as being expensive for the job I do, working with children who have special needs whose behaviour is often very challenging. In Cardiff the council is trying to change the job titles of all support staff to 'teaching assistant', regardless of whether they have any qualifications. It makes me feel totally undervalued as a professional.
