I just wanted to thank Penny Tassoni for including childminders in her parent's guide to a sense of time ('In the past', 17 July). Having complained in the past that childminders were being excluded from these guides, I am pleased to see that they're now being included.

Having complained in the past that childminders were being excluded from these guides, I am pleased to see that they're now being included.
One of childminding's many strengths is that child-minders have the opportunity to give children lots of time and attention throughout the day on an individual basis.
I feel it is time for other childcare professionals to appreciate the excellent care and education offered by childminders and features such as this will help to achieve this.
