- Recycling skills

Children from Granby House nursery, Carlton in Lindrick,Nottinghamshire, decided to explore recycling at nursery when one of thechildren brought in recyclable products from home. Manager JacquiHannaby said, 'Even though as a nursery we are always recycling withinour creative station, for example making box models and using oldenvelopes and magazines, we thought that as this child had shown aninterest, it would be good to explore the subject more.' Ms Hannaby(pictured, with deputy manager Katie Waring) said that the childrenhappily sort the items into the correct bins, which helps develop theirproblem-solving, reasoning and numeracy skills, as well as broadeningtheir knowledge and understanding of the world.
