Nurseries, pre-schools and children's groups can now register to takepart in next February's I CAN Chatterbox Challenge to raise funds forthe communication charity. Supported by BT openreach, children from allover the UK will be performing their favourite weather songs to helpraise money for children who struggle to communicate. The challenge ispart of I CAN's Maker Chatter Matter awareness drive to highlight theimportance of communication and the need to develop speech and languageskills for children. Snail Trails

The children of Morton Pre-School in Bourne, Lincolnshire, were amazedto find that the garden snail they had put in a tank the night beforehad changed into a giant snail. In fact, staff at the pre-school hadswapped the snail, which was found in the pre-school's garden, for agiant African snail that morning to see whether the children wouldnotice. Brenda Hammond, admin manager of the pre-school said: 'It wasn'tlong before one concerned girl went to check if the snail had eatenanything. The look of amazement and the comments about its huge shellwere delightful.'
