NSPCC launches internet safety campaign

An internet safety campaign to clamp down on people who view and share indecent images of children has been launched by the NSPCC.

SafetyNet will urge the Government, industry and others to devise an action plan to stop the distribution of child abuse images through file-sharing software and ensure better protection for children online. It comes on the back of a digital manifesto by the Children's Charities Coalition on Internet Safety. Signatures are being sought for a petition to set out priorities for the new UK Council for Child Internet Safety, which will be sent to the Prime Minister. Visit www.nspcc.org.uk/safetynetcampaign
